- REMOVE the live centre completely
- Turn the handle wheel until the quill is out enough that you can grab it
- Top of the lever should be loose prior to installation
- Place the lever into the hole
- Turn both the lever and (push in) quill at the same time until you feel a connection
- Turn the handle wheel to assure the tailstock is working properly
- Replace the live centre
