If you are receiving a ER.02 on your Neptune headstock, this may indicate that there is dust on your sensor.
You can follow the FAQ below to clean the sensor on your Nova Neptune. While you have the headstock open, it is also a good idea to give the inside of the motor a good clean/vacuum as well.
Tools Required:
- Philips screwdriver
- 2mm hex key
- Flat head screwdriver (optional)
- Long nose pliers (optional)
Step 1
Unplug the machine and remove the end cover from the back of the motor.
Step 2
Using the 2mm hex key, undo the grub screw on the fan. Pull the fan off to remove.
If the fan is too difficult remove, two flat head screwdrivers can be used to pry the fan off.
Step 3:
Undo the 2 philips heads on the sensor cover and take off the sensor guard and plastic insulation layer
Step 4:
Remove the 2 screws on the sensor and use a long nose plier to take out the sensor. You may need to remove the glue around the sensor connector.
Note: Careful to not lose the metal stand off rings when taking the sensor out.
Step 5:
Clean the sensor with a blower or cleaning alcohol with a cotton swab.
Note: Clean between each of the 3 “U” shaped sensors.
Step 6:
Follow the steps in reverse to reassemble the headstock.
